The Shalimar Association mission is to protect our neighborhood and ensure the golf course remains. As a 501(c)4 organization, donations are not tax-deductible. We follow these guidelines on the use of donations.
The Shalimar Association will always attempt to find ways to obtain needed resources that do not require direct payment. In situations or conditions where that is not possible, the Association will utilize donated funds. Donated funds may be used for:
- Legal counsel, including land use and zoning, municipal, commercial real estate, and business law
- Professional advice, including Communications, Fund Raising, Public Policy, Rezoning Campaigns, Education and Public Health, Biology, Golf Course Management, Botany, City Government Relations, Economic Redevelopment and Public/Private Partnerships.
- Advertising, marketing, and communications expenses, including website design and maintenance
- Data management costs (storage and secured servers)
- Routine filings associated with the Shalimar Association and the Save Shalimar effort.
- Venue fees for Association meetings
- Event-related expenses, including food/drink and supplies
- Office supplies, including paper, ink, printing, copying and document services
